Work at Deer Crossing

Deer Crossing will be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your life.

This was not a job but an experience. You learn so much, about yourself, about the world, about others, not to mention all the skills you pick up. I’ve gained such confidence over the past 9 weeks. It’s easy to say that something has changed your life. But this is so recognizable that I can already envision what things I will do differently when I return home. To the campers and instructor that have been here, remember me for I will remember you.

Thomas Hall, instructor

Instructors at Deer Crossing are called "Instructors" for a reason - we are not typical camp counselors. We are highly trained and create a positive impact on the lives of young people and ourselves.

This was one of the best decisions of my life. I know it will affect me always. Thank you for the opportunity to become stronger, smarter and more of a leader, but more importantly helping me to realize I could accomplish 9 hard weeks in the wilderness making differences in campers lives.

Marin La Croix, instructor

You will learn how attitude affects everything, and how to foster a positive attitude in campers and yourself.

Deer Crossing is a life-altering experience for campers and instructors alike. After seven years as a camper at DCC...my purpose this summer was to make DCC as memorable for these campers as the place has been for me. I walk away from DCC a stronger, more confident person, happy that the campers I’ve instructed walk away with the same
feelings of accomplishment.

Evan Thomas, instructor

If you feel ready to challenge yourself and show young people how to challenge themselves, read on.

It was the most extraordinary hands-on learning experience possible.
